International are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a close knit accounting team in Bradford on Avon. This role is ideal for candidates seeking a flexible part-time position (22-26hrs per week). The role of accounts assistant is to be responsible for the maintenance of accurate and complete financial records to ensure the smooth running of the business with the minimum of problems and to provide support and assistance to the Accounts Manager.The role will include the following duties:SALES LEDGER To produce and issue accurate sales invoices in the month in which they occur To regularly monitor the debtors and ensure that monies are received within agreed time limits To deal with queries raised by customers on invoices and settle any disputes with the help of relevant staff PURCHASE LEDGER Check orders against delivery notes and that purchase invoices are correct and enter into accounts Ensure the receipt of any credit due from suppliers Make payments to suppliers that are accurate and timely so as to ensure maximum benefit to the business BANK ACCOUNT & CASH Count, record and put up for collection the cash takings on a weekly basis Enter the details of the takings into the computerised accounts system on a weekly basis.Ensure that money and entries to the accounts system are reconciled on a weekly basis Maintain the supply of change to the premises and the float in the main office to service the needs of the business Maintain and account for the petty cash account. Reimburse staff members for purchases in accordance with guidance from the accounts manager.Reconcile the bank account monthly.GENERALLY Ensure that all entries for each month are complete and correct in time for the monthly management report to be produced Provide ad hoc reports or prepare information as may be deemed necessary from time to time. The successful candidate will ideally be:AAT - qualified to Intermediate level or equivalent Good numeracy skills Accuracy and attention to detail.A clear manner of speaking and the ability to communicate information to customers and other employees good knowledge of PC operations and software are needed, including Word, Excel and computerised accounts packages.
